Azure’s Linux support is growing, with more and more services offering Linux-based deployments. In this article, we’ll take a look at how much of Azure is Linux-based.

First, let’s take a look at the number of services that offer Linux-based deployments. As of October 2018, Azure has a total of 57 services that offer Linux-based deployments.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Azure is not entirely Linux. While a good portion of it is, there are still Windows components to be aware of. Do your research before investing too much into Azure.

This number is growing rapidly, and as of February 2019, there are a total of 89 services that offer Linux-based deployments.

The next question is, how much of Azure is Linux-based? As of October 2018, Linux-based deployments make up 39% of Azure’s total deployed capacity. This number is growing rapidly, and as of February 2019, Linux-based deployments make up 54% of Azure’s total deployed capacity.

This indicates that Azure is becoming a more popular platform for Linux-based deployments.
