HTML is the standard markup language for Web pages. HTML tags are the hidden keywords within a web page that define how your web browser must format and display the content. Most HTML tags will automatically close themselves, meaning they don’t require an ending tag, but some HTML tags, such as the line break tag
, do not have a closing tag.
In order to style text using HTML, you will need to use opening and closing tags. These are special codes that tell the web browser where to start and stop applying the style. The most common text styling tags are the bold tag, the underline tag, and the
paragraph
tag.
To create an image template in Canva, first sign up for a free account at www.canva.com. Then, click on the “Create a design” button in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
On the next page, select “Custom dimensions” from the drop-down menu and enter your desired width and height in pixels. For this tutorial, we’ll be creating a square image template, so we’ll enter 1000x1000px for our dimensions.
Once you’ve selected your dimensions, click on the “Choose template” button and select “Blank canvas.” You should now see a blank canvas with your desired dimensions in the middle of the screen.
To add text to your image template, click on the “Text” tab in the left-hand sidebar and then select the “Add heading” or “Add subheading” option. A text box will appear in the middle of your canvas. Enter your desired text and then use the options in the top toolbar to change things like the font, color, alignment, and spacing.
When you’re happy with your text, click on the “Uploads” tab in the left-hand sidebar and then select “Upload an image.” Find the image you want to use on your computer and then click on the “Open” button. Your image will now appear on your canvas.
To move or resize your image, click on it once to select it and then use your mouse to drag it into place or resize it by clicking on one of its corners and dragging inward or outward.
Once you’re happy with your image template, click on the “Download” button in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select either “PNG” or “JPEG.” Canva will now save your image template to your computer.

Your Image will now appear on canvas-to move/resize Click once to select & use mouse drag into place or resize by clicking one of corners & dragging inward/outward.
When you finish with Image Template Click “Download” button from top right hand side of screen & save as PNG or JPEG.
