wallpaper is a digital design made up of images, patterns and/or colors that can be applied to the background of a computer, phone, tablet or any other digital device. Wallpapers are usually designed for personal use and are often shared online.
Canva is a user-friendly graphic design tool that is perfect for creating custom wallpapers. With over 1 million templates and tools available, all you need is a creative eye and some time to create your own unique wallpaper.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create a wallpaper using Canva:
1. Start by signing up for a free account on Canva. You can also login with your Google or Facebook account.
2. Once you’re logged in, click on the “Create a design” button in the top left-hand corner.
3. A new page will load with all of the different design types you can create. For this project, we’ll be selecting “Custom dimensions” so that we can create a wallpaper that’s specifically sized for our device.
4. Enter in your desired dimensions. For this tutorial, we’ll be creating a wallpaper for an iPhone 6s, which has a screen resolution of 750×1334 pixels.
Note: If you’re unsure of what size to use, Canva has a handy list of sizes for popular devices.
5. Once you’ve entered your dimensions, click on the “Create New Design” button in the bottom right-hand corner.
6. You should now be in Canva’s design interface with a blank canvas that’s the perfect size for your wallpaper.
Now it’s time to start creating!
7. On the left side of the screen, you’ll see a toolbar with all of the different elements you can add to your design.
8. For this particular project, we want to find some images and patterns to use as our background.
9. To do this, click on the “Search” tab located at the top of the left toolbar and enter in some keywords related to what you’re looking for (e. “flowers,” “nature,” etc.). Once you hit “enter,” a bunch of different results will populate the screen.
10. Now it ‘s time to start browsing through the results and adding them to your canvas . To do this , simply click on an image or pattern that you like and it will automatically be added . Repeat this process until you have enough elements for your design .
11. Once you ‘re happy with your background, it’s time to add some text. Click on the “Text” tab in the left toolbar and select from one of Canva’s many fonts. Type out whatever message you’d like and then adjust the color, size, etc. to fit your needs. You can also add more than one line of text by clicking on the “+ Add Heading” or “+ Add Subheading” buttons. When you’re finished, click on the “Done” button in the top right-hand corner.
12. Your text should now be added to your canvas! If you want to move it around, simply click and drag it to wherever you want it placed. You can also change its position by clicking on the “Arrange” tab located in the top menu bar and then selecting from one of the options under “Position.”
13. Now that your text is in place, it’s time to add some finishing touches! If you want to add more images or patterns, simply repeat steps 8-10 until you’re satisfied with your design. You can also add shapes, lines, etc. by clicking on those respective tabs in the left toolbar.
14. When you’re happy with how everything looks, click on the “Download” button in the top right-hand corner and select either “PNG” or “JPEG” from dropdown menu.
That’s it! Your new custom wallpaper is now ready to be used!
