How Do I Edit a Video in Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 2:35 pm

Video editing is a process of cutting, rearranging, and adding visual and audio elements to a piece of video footage to create a new video. It can be used to make a video more engaging, tell a story, or change the tone or message of the original footage.

Canva is a free online design platform that allows users to create visuals using a variety of tools, including photos, illustrations, and videos. Videos can be edited in Canva using the same tools used to edit photos and illustrations.

To edit a video in Canva:

1. Go to www.canva.com and sign up for a free account.

2. Click on the “Create a design” button and select “Video” from the list of options.

3. Select the template that you want to use or click on the “+” button to start from scratch.

4. Click on the “Upload” button and select the video that you want to edit from your computer.

5. Once the video is uploaded, you will see it appear on the canvas. To edit the video, click on it and then use the tools in the top toolbar.

6. To add text to your video, click on the “Text” tool and then click on the canvas where you want to add text.

A text box will appear that you can type in. To format your text, use the options in the top toolbar.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great way to edit videos, but there are some things you should know before you start. First, make sure you have the latest version of Canva installed. Otherwise, you may not be able to access all of the features. Second, when you’re editing your video, be aware that there is a limit to how much you can change. You can only make changes to the video itself, not the audio. Finally, make sure you save your work frequently. Otherwise, you may lose your progress.

7. To add an audio track to your video, click on the “Audio” tool and then select an audio file from your computer. The audio track will be added to your video automatically.

8. Once you’re happy with your edited video, click on the “Download” button in the top toolbar and select your preferred file format (MP4 or MOV).
