Textures are a great way to add interest and depth to your images. They can be used to add a layer of realism, or to add a layer of distraction.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to add a texture pattern to Photoshop.

To start, open up Photoshop and create a new document. We’ll use a 1920x1080px resolution, so make sure that your document size is set to that size. Once you have created your document, open up the Layer palette and select the Background layer. Select the Rectangular Marquee tool (M) and draw a rectangle around the bottom half of the document.

PRO TIP: When adding a texture pattern to Photoshop, be sure to use a layer mask to avoid any unwanted pixels.

Make sure that the Mode is set to “Normal.” Once you have drawn your rectangle, select the Delete key and then select the Lasso tool (L). Click and drag around the top of the rectangle that you just created, and then select the OK button.

Now, you will need to create your texture. To do this, open up the Image menu and select “Image Size.” Select “Convert to Grayscale” and then select the OK button. Once you have created your texture, you will need to add it to your document.

To do this, click on the texture layer in the Layers palette and then click on the Add Layer Mask button. Click on the white area in the layer mask and then select the OK button.

Your texture is now added to your document. You can now continue to work on your image.
