When you’re ready to make a storyboard, head over to Canva. You can sign up for free by entering your email address and creating a password.

Once you’re in, click on the “Create a design” button in the top left-hand corner. A pop-up will appear asking you to choose the type of design you want to create. Select “Storyboard” from the list.

You’ll be taken to a page with a variety of storyboard templates to choose from. Scroll through the options and click on the one that best fits your project.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great tool for creating storyboards, but there are a few things to keep in mind when using it. First, make sure you have a clear idea of what your storyboard is going to be used for. Will it be used for planning a video or film? Or will it be used as a presentation tool? Knowing this will help you choose the right template.

Second, consider the size of your storyboard. Will it be used on a desktop or laptop? Or will it be printed out? Make sure the template you choose is the right size for your needs.

Third, think about the layout of your storyboard. Do you want it to be linear, with each scene in chronological order? Or do you want to be able to rearrange scenes and add new ones easily? Canva’s templates are flexible, so you can change the layout at any time.

Finally, remember to save your work frequently! Canva’s autosave feature is great, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Once you’ve selected a template, you’ll be taken to the editor. Here, you can add text, images, and shapes to your storyboard.

To add text, click on the “Text” tab in the left-hand sidebar and then click on the “Add heading” or “Add body text” buttons. To add an image, click on the “Uploads” tab in the left-hand sidebar and either drag-and-drop an image into the editor or click on the “Upload your own images” button. To add a shape, click on the “Shapes” tab in then left-hand sidebar and select the shape you want to add from the options that appear.

Once you’re happy with your storyboard, click on the “Download” button in the top right-hand corner and select either “JPEG” or “PNG” from the dropdown menu.
