What Is Not Allowed in Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 7:17 pm

As a general rule, you can upload any image file as long as it’s under 25MB in size and is in one of Canva’s supported formats: JPG, PNG, or SVG. We also have a handy guide on what file formats Canva supports.

However, there are a few things that aren’t allowed in Canva for copyright and safety reasons:

  • Trademarks or logos of other companies
  • Profanity, obscenities, or other offensive language
  • Nudity or sexually explicit images
  • Hate speech or discriminatory language of any kind
  • Images that could be considered spam

If you’re not sure whether an image violates our Terms of Use, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to take a look.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great platform for creating stunning visuals, but there are some limitations on what you can do. Here are a few things that are not allowed in Canva:

-You can’t upload your own fonts. Only the fonts that are available in Canva’s library can be used.

-You can’t upload photos that are copyrighted or trademarked. This includes images that you’ve found online and images that you’ve taken yourself. If you want to use an image that’s protected by copyright, you’ll need to get permission from the copyright holder first.

-You can’t sell products that contain Canva visuals without our permission. This includes things like t-shirts, mugs, and posters. If you want to sell products with Canva visuals on them, you’ll need to get in touch with us first.
