Is There a Magic Wand Tool in Canva?

Last updated on April 29, 2023 @ 1:34 pm

As a design platform, Canva is pretty darn magical. But is there an actual magic wand tool in Canva?

The answer is no… and yes. While there’s no literal magic wand tool, there are a couple of features that come pretty close to being magical.

The first is the ability to search for specific layouts. Let’s say you’re designing a social media post and you want it to be in a square format. You can type “square” into the search bar and a bunch of different layout options will pop up.

If you want to get even more specific, you can type in things like “Instagram post,” “Facebook cover,” or “Pinterest graphic.” Canva will then give you layout options that are perfectly sized for each social media platform.

PRO TIP: If you are looking for a magic wand tool in Canva, you will be disappointed. There is no such tool. However, there are a number of other great tools that Canva offers to help you create beautiful designs.

The second magic-like feature is the ability to upload your own fonts. This might not seem like a big deal, but if you’re a designer, you know that having access to different fonts can be invaluable.

You can find the uploaded fonts in the Fonts tab. Up until recently, Canva only had a handful of fonts to choose from. But now they have hundreds (if not thousands) of different fonts that you can use in your designs.

So while there’s no magic wand tool in Canva, there are definitely some features that make it feel like one.

In conclusion, while there may not be an actual magic wand tool in Canva, the platform still has some pretty magical features, like being able to search for specific layouts and upload your own fonts.
