How do you make a glossy glass effect in Photoshop?

Making a glossy glass effect in Photoshop is not too difficult. First, you will need to create a new document. Next, click on the New Document icon located in the lower left corner of the Photoshop workspace.

In the New Document dialog box, choose the Photoshop PSD format. Enter a filename for your file, and then click on the Create button.

Once your new document has been created, you will need to select the Glass layer in the Layers panel. To create the glossy effect, you will need to adjust a few settings in the Layer Style dialog box. First, select the Glass layer, and then click on the Layer Style button located in the lower right corner of the Layers panel.

In the Layer Style dialog box, select the Blur option. Next, enter a value of 10 in the Blur Radius field, and then click on the OK button.

Finally, you will need to adjust the opacity of the Glass layer. To do this, click on the Layer Mask button located in the bottom left corner of the Layers panel, and then select the Invert option.

Now, your glass effect should look like the image shown in Figure 1. To finalize the image, you will need to add a border to the document. To do this, select the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M), and then enter a width and height of 100 pixels in the Marquee Tool Options dialog box.

Next, drag the marquee around the outer edge of the document, and then enter a color of #2C3D4A in the fill field of the Marquee Tool Options dialog box. Finally, click on the OK button to exit the Marquee Tool Options dialog box.

Now, your glossy glass effect should look like the image shown in Figure 2. To finalize the image, you will need to add a title and copyright information to the document. To do this, select the Text Tool (T), and then enter the title “Glass” in the Text Field located in the lower left corner of the Text Tool Options dialog box.

Next, enter the copyright information “Copyright © 2012 – The Photoshop Team” in the Text Field located in the lower right corner of the Text Tool Options dialog box. Finally, click on the OK button to exit the Text Tool Options dialog box.

Congratulations, you have now created a glossy glass effect in Photoshop!.
