Can You Color Overlay in Canva?

You can certainly color overlay in Canva! To do so, simply click on the “Text” tool in the left-hand sidebar and then click on the “Add Heading” or “Add Subheading” option. From there, a text box will appear in which you can type your desired text.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great platform for creating visuals, but you should be aware that you cannot color overlay in Canva. If you try to do so, your design will be distorted and the colors will not match up.

Once you have typed out your text, you can then change the color of the overlay by clicking on the “Text Color” option in the top toolbar. A color wheel will appear, and you can either choose a color from there or enter in a hex code.

That’s all there is to it! Adding a color overlay to your text is a quick and easy way to add some visual interest to your design. So next time you’re working on a design in Canva, remember to experiment with different colors and see what looks best.
