As a business owner, you want to be able to protect your brand. You want to be able to control how people use your logo, and you don’t want anyone to be able to profit from it without your permission. So, when you create a logo for your business, you might assume that you own the copyright to that logo.

However, that’s not necessarily the case. If you create your logo using a service like Canva, you might not actually own the copyright to your logo.

That’s because when you create something using Canva, you’re agreeing to their terms of service. And their terms of service state that they own the copyright to anything that’s created on their platform.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great platform for creating amazing designs, but you need to be aware of the terms and conditions before using it. By creating a design on Canva, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions which state that Canva owns the copyright to any design you create on their platform. This means that you are not allowed to sell, reproduce or distribute the design without their permission. So if you’re planning on using Canva to create a logo for your business, be aware that you will not own the copyright to that logo.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you can’t use your Canva-created logo. You can still use it for your business.

However, it’s important to be aware that someone else technically owns the copyright to it. So, if you ever want to trademark your logo or sell it, you’ll need to get permission from Canva first.
