What Is the Bleed Margin in Canva?

The bleed margin is the area of your design that will be trimmed off when the design is printed. The bleed margin is usually about 0.125 inches on each side. To ensure that your design bleeds correctly, you will need to extend your design beyond the edge of the page by at least 0.125 inches.

When you are creating a design in Canva, you can set your own custom bleed margins. To do this, go to the Design tab and click on Customize.

PRO TIP: The bleed margin in Canva is the area around the edge of the page that will be cut off when the design is printed. Make sure to leave enough space around your design so that it doesn’t get cut off!

Then click on Margins and select Custom from the drop-down menu. Enter in your desired bleed margins and click Apply.

It is important to note that if you are planning on printing your design, you should always check with your printer to see what their bleed requirements are. Some printers may require a larger bleed margin than others.

The bleed margin is an important part of the printing process and can help to ensure that your design turns out looking its best. By taking the time to set your bleed margins correctly, you can avoid any unwanted white space or trimmed edges in your final print product.
