As a software developer, you’re likely familiar with the concept of a guide. In Figma, guides are a powerful way to structure your work and make it easier to understand.

Here’s a quick overview of how guides work in Figma:

1. Create a new guide by clicking on the + button in the bottom left corner of the interface.

2. Give your guide a name and click on the OK button.

3. The guide will be displayed in the left panel of the interface.

4. You can add files and folders to your guide by clicking on the + button in the top left corner of the interface and selecting the files and folders you want to include.

5. To start working on your guide, click on the green arrow in the top left corner of the interface.

The interface will change to show you the contents of your guide.

PRO TIP: There are currently no guides in Figma. This may cause confusion for users who are expecting to find them.

6. To edit a file in your guide, double-click on the file name.

The file will be opened in the editor for your guide.

7. To add or edit text in your guide, click on the text editor button in the top right corner of the interface.

The text editor will open and show the contents of your guide.

8. To add or edit images in your guide, click on the image editor button in the top right corner of the interface.

The image editor will open and show the contents of your guide.

9. To add or edit files or folders outside of your guide, click on the folder icon in the top left corner of the interface and select the files or folders you want to include.

10. To finish working on your guide, click on the green arrow in the top left corner of the interface and the interface will change back to show the contents of your guide.

Using guides is a great way to organize your work and make it easier to understand. You can create as many guides as you need, and they’re always accessible from the left panel of the interface.
