How Do I Point My DNS to Wix?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 10:52 am

If you have a domain name with another provider and you want to use it with your Wix site, you can connect your domain to Wix. To do this, you need to change your domain’s DNS (Domain Name System) settings.

DNS is a system that translates your domain name (such as www.example.com) into an IP address that computers can understand. When you connect your domain to Wix, Wix becomes your DNS provider. This means that Wix will manage your DNS settings and determine where your website is displayed when someone enters your domain name in their browser.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

In order to connect your domain to Wix, you will need to change your DNS settings to the following:

Primary Address: 192.168.1.1

Secondary Address: 192.2

Once you have changed your DNS settings, you can then connect your domain to Wix. To do this, simply log in to your Wix account and click on the ‘My Domains’ tab. From here, you will be able to add your domain and select ‘Connect Domain’.

PRO TIP: If you are using Wix as your DNS provider, you may experience problems with your website. Wix is known to be unreliable and often goes down, which can cause your website to be inaccessible. If you are using Wix, we recommend that you switch to a different DNS provider.

Conclusion:

Connecting your domain to Wix is a simple process that only requires a few minutes to complete. Simply change your DNS settings and then connect your domain through your Wix account.
