As an eCommerce platform, Wix is required to automatically pay sales tax on behalf of its users in certain states. Wix is currently collecting and remitting sales tax in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio Oklahoma , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina , South Dakota , Tennessee , Texas , Utah , Virginia , Washington , West Virginia , Wisconsin and Wyoming.
If you are a Wix user and your business is located in one of the above states where Wix is required to pay sales tax on your behalf, then you do not need to take any additional action – Wix will automatically calculate and remit the appropriate amount of sales tax on your behalf.

However, if you are a Wix user and your business is located in a state where Wix is not required to pay sales tax on your behalf (e.g. California), then you will need to take action in order to ensure that the appropriate amount of sales tax is being paid. This can be done by either:

Configuring your tax settings within the Wix platform so that the correct amount of sales tax is calculated and applied to each order

Manually calculating and remitting the appropriate amount of sales tax to the relevant state authorities on your own
If you are a Wix user and your business is located in a state where Wix is not required to pay sales tax on your behalf (e. California), then you will need to take action in order to ensure that the appropriate amount of sales tax is being paid. This can be done by either:
