How do I create a login page on Squarespace?

Last updated on May 1, 2023 @ 2:09 pm

Creating a login page on Squarespace is a fairly easy process. First, you will need to enable the Member Areas feature of your Squarespace website. To do this, go to your site’s Settings and select the Member Areas option.

Click on the toggle button to enable the Member Areas feature of your site. This will allow you to create different pages that only members who log in to your site will be able to access.

You will then be asked to complete a series of steps to set up your Member Areas.

Once done setting up your Member Areas, you can add a login page by opening the Page Editor and selecting the “Edit Site Header” button. This will let us add a login button in the header part of our site.

From there, open the “Elements” tab.

PRO TIP: If you are creating a login page on Squarespace, be aware that there are some risks associated with this. First, if you do not set up your login page correctly, anyone who visits your site will be able to access your Squarespace account. This could lead to someone changing your site content, deleting pages, or even accessing sensitive information such as your billing information. Second, if you do not use a secure connection (https) when setting up your login page, your password could be intercepted by someone else on the network. This could lead to them gaining access to your account. To avoid these risks, make sure that you set up your login page correctly and use a secure connection.

In the Elements tab, enable the Button element by clicking on the toggle button beside it. Once enabled, add a name for the button and input the link of a Member Area page you created.

Once done, click on the “Save” button to save your changes.

Now once a visitor in your website clicks on the “LOGIN” button you just created in the header, this login page should pop up. This prompts the visitor to either log in or sign up for an account in order to access the Member Area pages.
