As a designer, you may find yourself working in different software programs depending on the project you’re working on. If you’re designing a website or app, you may be using Sketch or Adobe XD. But if you’re designing a more complex system or interface, you may be using Figma.
Figma is a great tool for designing complex interfaces because it offers an infinite canvas and vector-based objects. But one of its best features is that it allows you to create interactive prototypes.
Creating an interactive prototype in Figma is easy. First, create your design in Figma. Then, click on the “Prototype” tab in the top navigation bar.
In the “Prototype” tab, you’ll see a list of all the pages in your design. To create a link between two pages, simply click and drag the blue arrow from one page to another.
You can also add interactions to individual elements on a page. To do this, select an element and click on the “Interactions” tab in the right sidebar.
In the “Interactions” tab, you can add actions such as “Tap”, “Hover”, or “Drag”. For each action, you can specify what should happen when that action is triggered.
For example, you can make an element move when it’s tapped or make it change color when it’s hovered over. You can also specify what should happen when the element is dragged off the screen.
Once you’ve added all the interactions you want, click on the “Share” button in the top navigation bar. In the “Share” menu, you can choose to export your prototype as an HTML file or as a URL.
If you export your prototype as an HTML file, you can then open it in a web browser and interact with it just like a real website or app. You can even share it with others so they can experience your design firsthand.
If you export your prototype as a URL, you can share it with anyone who has internet access. They’ll be able to view your design in their web browser and interact with it just like they would with a real website or app.
