Can I Import InDesign to Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:11 pm

In general, it is not possible to import InDesign files into Figma. However, there are some workarounds that may be possible, depending on what you are trying to achieve.

PRO TIP: There is no guarantee that importing InDesign into Figma will preserve all your design elements and formatting. It is recommended that you export your InDesign file to a more compatible format, such as PDF, before importing it into Figma.

One workaround is to export your InDesign file as an .eps file, and then import this into Figma. Another workaround is to export your InDesign file as a .pdf, and then use the “slice” tool in Figma to break it up into individual elements.

If you are simply trying to convert an InDesign file into a Figma file for further editing, then neither of these workarounds will be possible. However, if you are just trying to take elements from an InDesign file and use them in a Figma project, then either of these workarounds could work for you.
