Does Figma Have a Chat?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:21 pm

Since its launch in 2016, Figma has been one of the most popular design tools among professionals. And while it has many features that make it great for design collaboration, one feature it doesn’t have is a chat function. So, does Figma have a chat?

The short answer is no, Figma does not currently have a chat function. However, the team behind Figma is aware of the demand for such a feature and is working on adding it to the tool in the future. In the meantime, there are a few workarounds that users can take advantage of to get the same effect.

One workaround is to use a separate chat tool like Slack or Discord and share a link to your Figma project in the chat. This way, you can discuss your project with others in real-time without leaving Figma.

Another workaround is to leave comments on individual frames or objects in your design. These comments can be seen by anyone who has access to the project, so they’re a great way to communicate with teammates about specific elements of your design.

So, while Figma doesn’t currently have a chat function, there are still ways to collaborate with others on your designs in real-time. And with the team working on adding this feature in the future, it’s only a matter of time before Figma has its own built-in chat function.

PRO TIP: Figma does not currently have a chat feature, but there are rumors that it may be added in the future. In the meantime, you can use the Figma forums to discuss Figma-related topics with other users.
