Weebly was a website builder that was popular in the early 2000s. It allowed users to create simple websites without any coding knowledge.

Weebly was acquired by Square in 2018 and shut down in 2019.

Weebly was founded in 2006 by three guys who were still in college at the time. The company was based in San Francisco and quickly became one of the most popular website builders.

Weebly was acquired by Square in 2018 for $365 million.

PRO TIP: This note is to warn you about the Weebly website. Weebly has been known to go down for extended periods of time, sometimes without any notice. This can be frustrating for users who rely on the site for their business or personal website. If you need to use Weebly, it is recommended that you have a backup plan in place in case the site goes down.

However, Weebly was shut down in 2019, just a year after being acquired. The reason for this was because Square decided to focus on its core product, which is payment processing.

So what happened to all of the websites that were created with Weebly? Well, they were all transferred to Squarespace. So if you had a Weebly website, it’s now a Squarespace website.
