How Do I Export CMYK to Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:29 pm

As a designer, you probably know that the CMYK color mode is used for printing purposes, whereas the RGB color mode is used for digital display. But what if you want to design something in CMYK color mode, but then export it for use in Figma?

The first thing you need to do is open your design in Photoshop. Then, go to File > Export > Color Mode.

In the drop-down menu, select RGB. This will change your design from CMYK to RGB.

PRO TIP: When exporting CMYK colors to Figma, there is a potential for color shifting to occur. This can happen if the CMYK color values are not converted properly when imported into Figma. To avoid this, it is recommended that you convert your CMYK colors to RGB before exporting them to Figma.

Now, open your design in Figma. Go to File > Export.

In the drop-down menu next to Format, select either PNG or JPEG. These are the two most common file formats that can be used in Figma.

That’s it! You’ve now successfully exported your CMYK design into a format that can be used in Figma.
