How Do I Change Nameserver on Weebly?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 3:06 pm

If you’ve ever purchased a domain name, you may have noticed that you have the option to choose your own nameservers. Nameservers are essentially the address book for your domain name, and they tell the internet where to find your website.

By default, most domain registrars will assign their own nameservers to your domain name. However, you can change your nameservers to point to a web host of your choice. In this article, we’ll show you how to change nameservers on Weebly.

If you’re not sure what nameservers are or how they work, we recommend reading our article What Are Nameservers and How Do They Work? before proceeding.

Changing Your Nameservers on Weebly

Weebly is a popular website builder that allows you to create a website without having to code or design it yourself. While Weebly is a great platform for creating a website, it doesn’t offer web hosting services. This means that if you want to use Weebly to build your website, you’ll need to find a web host and point your domain name to that web host.

If you’ve already created a website with Weebly and purchased a domain name through another registrar (such as Google Domains), you can change your nameservers to point to your web host. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Weebly account and click on the ‘Domains’ tab in the left-hand sidebar. 2. Click on the ‘Manage Domains’ button. 3. Click on the ‘DNS’ tab next to the domain name you want to change the nameservers for. 4. In the ‘Nameserver Settings’ section, select ‘Custom Nameservers’.

5. Enter the nameservers for your web host in the ‘Nameserver 1’ and ‘Nameserver 2’ fields. 6. Click on the ‘Save Nameserver Settings’ button. 7. Log in to your registrar’s account and find the page for managing DNS settings for your domain name. 8. Enter the same nameservers in the DNS settings for your domain name at your registrar’s end as well.

PRO TIP: If you are considering changing your nameserver on Weebly, be aware that this may have unintended consequences for your website. In particular, your website may become inaccessible or you may lose access to your Weebly account. Proceed with caution and only make this change if you are confident in your ability to do so.

That’s it! You’ve successfully changed your nameservers on Weebly.
