How Do You Make a 3D Model in Figma?

There are a few different ways that you can go about 3D modeling in Figma. One way is to use the “Extrude” tool to create basic 3D shapes. Another way is to use the “Import” function to bring in more complex 3D models from other software programs.

The “Extrude” tool is great for creating simple 3D shapes like cubes and cylinders. To use it, select the “Extrude” tool from the toolbar and then click and drag on a 2D object to turn it into a 3D object. You can also use the “Extrude” tool to add depth to an existing 3D object by clicking and dragging on one of its faces.

PRO TIP: 3D models in Figma can be created using the Extrude tool. This tool can be found in the toolbar at the top of the screen. To use the Extrude tool, first select the object you want to extrude. Then, click and drag on the canvas to create the 3D model.

When using the Extrude tool, be careful not to click and drag too far, or you may create a model that is too large for your project. Also, be sure to keep an eye on the size of your 3D model as you create it, as it can be easy to make a model that is too small or too large.

The “Import” function is how you can bring in more complex 3D models from other software programs. To use it, select the “Import” function from the toolbar and then choose the file you want to import. Figma will then convert the file into a 3D model that you can edit just like any other object in Figma.

Both of these methods are great for creating simple 3D models, but if you want to create more complex models you’ll need to use another software program. Some popular programs for 3D modeling are Maya, Blender, and Cinema 4D.
