Where Are My Squarespace Plugins?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:59 pm

If you have been using Squarespace for a while, you may have noticed that there is no longer a “Plugins” link in the left-hand sidebar. So where are all of the Squarespace plugins?

The answer is that Squarespace no longer supports plugins. They stopped supporting them in 2016, and they have no plans to bring them back.

So why did Squarespace get rid of plugins?

There are a few reasons. First, plugins can slow down your site.

Second, they can cause conflicts with other parts of your site. And third, they can make it difficult for Squarespace to provide customer support.

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble finding your Squarespace plugins, be sure to check your account settings. In the “Account” tab, there is a drop-down menu labeled “Plugin Locations.” Make sure that the location selected is “Site-wide (recommended).”

So if you’re looking for a way to add custom functionality to your Squarespace site, you’re out of luck. You’ll just have to use one of the many other features that Squarespace offers.

While plugin support used to be available on Squarespace, the company has since discontinued this service back in 2016. The main reasons for why they did this were because plugins could slow down sites, cause conflicts and made it difficult for Squarespace to offer customer support. If you’re looking for a way to add custom functionality to your site now, you’ll have to use one of Squarespace’s other features instead.
