How Do I Use My Free Domain With Weebly?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 3:41 pm

You can use your free domain with Weebly in a few different ways. You can either use it as your primary domain, or you can use it as an alias for your primary domain.

If you want to use your free domain as your primary domain, you will need to set up DNS records with your domain registrar. You will need to set an A record for @ (or the root of the domain) and point it to Weebly’s IP address, which is 199.34.228.100.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about using your free domain with Weebly, be warned that this could potentially result in losing control of your website. While Weebly does offer a free domain, it is important to remember that they also have the power to delete your website at any time and for any reason. If you are using your free domain with Weebly, be sure to keep a backup of your website somewhere else so that you do not lose all of your hard work.

You will also need to set a CNAME record for www and point it to alias.Weebly.com. Once you have done this, you will need to go into your Weebly account and set the Domain section to “Custom Domain” and enter your free domain name into the box next to “Custom Domain.”

If you want to use your free domain as an alias for your primary domain, you will need to go into your Weebly account and set the Domain section to “Alias.” You will then need to enter your free domain name into the box next to “Alias.” Once you have done this, people who visit your free domain will be automatically redirected to your primary domain.
