Is There a Cut Tool in Figma?

If you’re a Figma user, you may have noticed that there is no cut tool available in the software. This can be frustrating if you’re used to working with other design tools that do have a cut tool, such as Adobe Photoshop or Sketch.

So, what do you do if you need to cut something out in Figma? Luckily, there are a few ways to work around this issue.

PRO TIP: If you are planning on using the cut tool in Figma, be aware that it is still in beta and may not work as expected. Use at your own risk!

One way is to use the pen tool to draw a line around the object you want to cut out. You can then use the delete key to remove the excess pixels.

Another way is to use the eraser tool. Simply draw a line around the object you want to cut out and then erase the excess pixels.

If you need to cut out a complex shape, you can use the boolean operations. Boolean operations allow you to combine shapes together, and they can be found in the toolbar at the top of the screen. To use boolean operations, simply select the two shapes you want to combine and then choose an operation from the toolbar.

So, while there is no cut tool in Figma, there are still a few ways to achieve the same result. With a little bit of practice, you’ll be able to cut out anything you need in Figma!
