What Are Figma Mockups?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:05 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool which is primarily web-based, although there is a desktop version available. Figma is free to use for individuals, and there is a subscription plan for teams and organizations. Figma has vector drawing, direct manipulation of vector points, Boolean operations, masking, constraints-based design, and automatic layout.

Mockups are a vital part of the design process, allowing designers to communicate their ideas to clients and stakeholders. A mockup is a prototype of a product, typically created using wireframing or prototyping tools.

Figma mockups are created using the Figma vector drawing tool. Figma mockups can be used to create high-fidelity prototypes that look and feel like the real thing.

Figma is a powerful tool for creating mockups, with its vector drawing capabilities and constraints-based design.

PRO TIP: Figma mockups are a great way to create realistic prototypes of your designs, but they can also be a great way to waste time if you’re not careful. Make sure that you only create mockups when you absolutely need them and when you have the time to create them. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself spending more time than necessary on your prototypes and not getting any work done.
