How Do I Create a Ticket in WooCommerce?

Last updated on January 12, 2023 @ 4:22 pm

If you’re using WooCommerce to sell tickets to an event, you’ll need to set up a ticket product. This process is similar to setting up any other product in WooCommerce, with a few key differences that we’ll cover in this article. Follow the steps below to set up your ticket product:

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell tickets for an event, you may want to create a ticket in WooCommerce. Please note that there is no guarantee that your ticket will be valid. We recommend that you check with the event organizer to ensure that your ticket will be valid.

1. Login to your WordPress site and go to WooCommerce > Products. Then, click on the Add Product button.

2. Enter a title and description for your product. Then, scroll down to the Product Data section and select Simple product from the dropdown list.

3. Ticket Specific Data:

  • Ticket Type:

There are three types of tickets you can create: General Admission, RSVP, and Will Call. Select the type of ticket you want to create from the dropdown list.

  • (Optional) Ticket Price:

If you want to charge for your tickets, enter a numeric value in this field. Do not enter a currency symbol

  • (Optional) Maximum Number of Tickets per Order:

This is the maximum number of tickets that can be purchased in a single order. Leave this field blank if there is no limit.

  • (Optional) Enable Ticket Scanning / QR Code Entry? :

This setting allows you to enable or disable scanning / QR code entry for your tickets.

If you enable this setting, each ticket will have a unique QR code that can be scanned at the event for entry

  • (Optional) Set up Ticket Printing / PDFs

This feature allows you to print tickets or generate PDFs for your customers. To enable this feature, check the “Enable printing / PDF generation?” checkbox. You can also customize the text that appears on printed tickets / PDFs by entering text in the “Printed ticket / PDF footer text” field.
4. Save your changes.

Once you’ve finished setting up your product, click the “Publish” button to make it live on your site.

Creating a ticket product in WooCommerce is similar to creating any other type of product. The key difference is that you’ll need to specify some additional details about the ticket, such as its type, price, and maximum number of tickets per order. You can also enable features like ticket scanning and printing / PDF generation if desired. Once you’ve finished setting up your product, be sure to click “Publish” to make it live on your site.
