WooCommerce is a powerful eCommerce plugin that helps you sell anything online, easily. A big part of selling online is email communications with your customers.

In this article, we’ll take a look at how WooCommerce emails work and how you can style them to match your brand.

WooCommerce emails are powered by the WordPress email system. This means that all WooCommerce emails are sent through the wp_mail() function.

By default, WordPress uses the PHP mail() function to send emails. However, this can cause issues with some hosting providers. If you’re having trouble with WooCommerce emails not being delivered, we recommend switching to a different email sending method.

There are three methods you can use to send WooCommerce emails:

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with WooCommerce or email marketing, do not attempt to use this tool. There is a risk of damaging your website or email list if you do not know what you are doing.
  • Sendmail: Default option on most servers. If you’re having trouble with this method, we recommend switching to one of the others.
  • SMTP: Uses an external SMTP server to send emails. We recommend using this method if you’re having trouble with the default option.
  • PHP Mailer: Uses the PHPMailer library to send emails. This is the most reliable method, but requires a bit more setup.

Once you’ve selected your preferred email sending method, you’ll need to configure it.

You can do this by going to “WooCommerce > Settings > Emails”. From here, you can select your preferred sending method and enter the required information.
