Does Squarespace Automatically Save?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 12:46 am

When you create or edit a Squarespace site, your changes are automatically saved as you work. This happens in the background, so you can keep working without interruption. If you lose your internet connection, Squarespace saves your changes and uploads them as soon as your connection is restored.

You can also manually save your changes at any time by clicking the Save button at the top of the page. If you’re working on a long-form post or page, we recommend saving your changes periodically to prevent losing any unsaved work.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a Squarespace site, be sure to save your work often! Squarespace does not automatically save your work, so if you leave the site without saving, you will lose all your unsaved changes.

When you save a change, a green notification bar appears at the top of the page to let you know it was successful. If you see a red notification instead, that means there was an error saving your changes.
