How Do I Enable Manual Time in UpWork?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 10:44 am

UpWork is a great platform for freelancers, but one of its most useful features is the ability to track time manually. This can be extremely helpful if you’re working on a project that requires a lot of time or if you’re working with a client who wants to see how much time you’re spending on their project. Here’s how to enable manual time tracking in UpWork:

First, go to your settings by clicking on the gear icon in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. Then, click on “Manage Jobs” in the left sidebar.

Next, find the job that you want to track time for and click on the “Edit” button next to it. In the job settings page, scroll down to the “Time Tracking” section and select “Manual Entry.”

PRO TIP: If you enable manual time in Upwork, all of your time tracking will have to be done manually. This can be very time-consuming and may not accurately reflect the time you actually spend working.

Once you’ve enabled manual time tracking, you can begin tracking your time by clicking on the “Log Time” button at the top of the screen. In the log time window, you can enter the amount of time you worked, add a note about what you did, and select the start and end dates.

You can also add billable hours in this window by checking the “Billable” box. When you’re finished, click “Log Time.”

Manual time tracking can be extremely helpful in a variety of situations. If you’re working on a long-term project or if you need to track your time for billing purposes, manual time tracking is a great option. It’s also helpful if you want to see how much time you’re spending on a particular client’s project.
