How Do I Edit a Figma Design?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:00 am

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – the first interface design tool with real-time collaboration. That means every designer on your team can work together in the same file, from start to finish.

No need to export assets or ask for permissions. Figma is also free to use.

When you’re ready to edit your Figma design, there are a few different ways to do it. You can either use the Figma editor itself, or you can export your design as an image file and edit it in another program like Photoshop or Sketch.

If you want to make changes to your design directly in Figma, simply select the element you want to edit and make your changes in the right-hand panel. You can change the color, size, font, and other properties of any element in your design. Once you’re happy with your changes, simply click ‘Save’ and they’ll be applied to your design.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, we recommend that you avoid editing a Figma design. Editing a Figma design can be complex and time-consuming, and if you are not familiar with the software, you may end up causing more harm than good.

Alternatively, if you want to edit your design in another program like Photoshop or Sketch, you can export it as an image file. To do this, go to File > Export > Image and select the format you want to export it as (PNG, JPG, or SVG). Once you’ve exported your design, open it up in the program of your choice and make your edits there.

Once you’re done editing your design, simply save it and upload it back into Figma. Your changes will be automatically applied to your design.

Conclusion:

So there you have it! These are just a few different ways that you can edit a Figma design.

Whether you want to make changes directly in Figma or export your design as an image file and edit it elsewhere, the choice is yours. Just be sure to save your changes before uploading them back into Figma.
