Where Are Images Stored in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:35 am

Images are an integral part of any website. They can help break up text, add visual interest, and make a site more visually appealing. But where are images stored in Squarespace?

When you upload an image to Squarespace, it is automatically stored in an online file storage system known as Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). S3 is a secure and scalable way to store files and images on the internet.

PRO TIP: Squarespace allows you to store your images in both online and offline storage. When you first create an account, you’ll be given 2GB of free storage. You can purchase additional storage, which is stored securely in the cloud.

Once an image is stored in S3, it is then displayed on your website using what is known as a Content Delivery Network (CDN). A CDN is a global network of servers that helps deliver content quickly and efficiently to users all over the world.

So when you upload an image to Squarespace, it is first stored in S3 and then displayed on your site using a CDN.
