How Do I Create a Bulk Discount in WooCommerce?

Discounts are a great way to encourage customers to buy more from your WooCommerce store. They can also be used to promote specific products, or to clear old stock.

There are two main types of discounts in WooCommerce:

  • Bulk discounts – these are discounts that are applied when a customer buys a certain number of products. For example, you might offer a 10% discount when someone buys 10 or more products.
  • Category discounts – these are discounts that are applied to all products in a certain category. For example, you might offer a 20% discount on all products in the “Sale” category.

To create a bulk discount, go to: WooCommerce > Products > Bulk Discounts. Then, select the “Add Bulk Discount” button.

You will then need to configure the following settings:

1. Discount type – this can be either a fixed amount or a percentage.

2. Amount – this is the actual discount amount or percentage.

3. Minimum quantity – this is the minimum number of products that must be bought in order for the discount to be applied.

4. Maximum quantity – this is the maximum number of products that can be bought in order for the discount to be applied. If left blank, there is no maximum quantity limit.

5. Exclude sale items – if this option is checked, sale items will be excluded from the discount calculation.

6. Individual use only – if this option is checked, the discount can only be used once per customer (i.e., it cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons or discounts).

7. Free shipping – if this option is checked, the discount will include free shipping (if your store offers free shipping).

8. Expiry date – if you want the discount to expire after a certain date, enter the date here. Otherwise, leave blank for no expiry date.

PRO TIP: When creating a bulk discount in WooCommerce, be sure to set the “Minimum quantity” and “Maximum quantity” fields correctly. Otherwise, the discount may not work as intended.
