Component libraries are a great way to keep your design consistent and your team organized. But how do you open a component library in Figma?

There are a few different ways to open a component library in Figma. One way is to go to the File menu and select “Open Library…”. This will open the Library panel, where you can select the library you want to open.

Another way is to click the “Libraries” button in the toolbar. This will also open the Library panel. Finally, you can use the keyboard shortcut Cmd + Shift + L (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + L (Windows) to open the Library panel.

Once you have the Library panel open, you can browse through the available libraries or search for a specific library. To open a library, simply click on it.

You can also add libraries to your Favorites so they’re easy to find later. To do this, click the heart icon next to the library name.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, we recommend that you seek help from a qualified professional before attempting to open a component library. This process can be complicated and may result in data loss or damage to your computer if not done correctly.

When you open a library, it will appear in its own tab in the Library panel. From here, you can browse through the components in the library, drag and drop them into your file, or even update them if they’ve been changed in the original library.
