Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 3:15 pm

If you’re using WooCommerce to sell products on your WordPress site, then you’ll need to know how to update your products from time to time. This could be for a number of reasons – maybe you need to change the price, description, or image.

Whatever the reason, it’s important to know how to do it so that your products are always up-to-date and accurate. In this article, we’ll show you how to update WooCommerce products.

Updating Simple Products in WooCommerce

If you need to update a simple product in WooCommerce, then the process is relatively straightforward. First, you need to log into your WordPress dashboard and go to Products > All Products. From here, you can search for the product that you need to update and then click on Edit.

You’ll now be taken to the product editing page where you can make all the changes that you need. Once you’re happy with the changes, simply scroll down and click on Update.

Updating Variable Products in WooCommerce

If you need to update a variable product, then the process is a little more complicated.

NOTE: If your variable product has multiple variations (e.g. different sizes or colors), then you need to edit each variation individually.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Products > All Products . From here, locate the variable product that needs updating.

  2. Click on Edit , and then select one of the variations from the dropdown menu.

  3. You’ll now be taken to the variation editing page where you can make all the changes that you need.

  4. Once you’re happy with the changes, simply scroll down and click on Update

.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to update your WooCommerce products, it is important to backup your database first. Updating products can sometimes result in data loss, so it is always best to have a backup before proceeding.
