Can I Trademark a Logo From Fiverr?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:16 pm

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about what can and cannot be trademarked. For example, many people believe that you can only trademark logos that are created by professional graphic designers.

However, this is not the case! You can actually trademark any logo, regardless of who creates it.

PRO TIP: There is always the potential that someone could challenge your trademark registration, and if they are successful, you could lose your trademark registration and be forced to give up your brand. If you are going to use a logo from Fiverr, be sure to do your research to make sure it is not already trademarked by someone else.

This means that if you have a logo created for you on Fiverr, you can absolutely trademark it. In fact, there are no restrictions on what type of logo you can trademark.

So long as it meets the basic requirements for a trademarkable logo (i.e. it is unique and capable of distinguishing your goods or services from those of others), you can go ahead and trademark it.

Of course, there is one small catch. You will need to ensure that the Fiverr freelancer who creates your logo assigns all ownership rights to you. Otherwise, they may still technically own the logo and could cause problems down the line if you try to enforce your trademark rights.

So long as you get the ownership rights sorted out, there is no reason why you cannot trademark a logo that you had created on Fiverr. So go ahead and get that process started – your business will be all the better for it!
