How Do You Comment in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:22 am

There are a few different ways to comment in Figma. You can use the Comment tool, which is located in the left toolbar. Or, you can select the Comment option from the right-click menu.

When you use the Comment tool, you can click and drag to create a box around the area you want to comment on. Then, type your comment in the box that appears. To @mention someone in your comment, just type their name (or username) and they’ll get a notification.

If you want to comment on an specific object, you can select it and then choose the Comment option from the right-click menu. This will open up a commenting pane on the right side of the screen where you can type your comment. @mentions work here too!

You can also reply to comments that have been left for you. Just hover over the comment and click the Reply button.

Finally, if you want to resolve a comment, just click the Resolve button next to it.

These are just a few different ways that you can go about commenting in Figma. Figma makes it easy to give feedback and collaborate with others on design projects.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, please be aware that commenting in Figma can be a little bit tricky. When you add a comment in Figma, it will be added as a note on the top of the page. This can be confusing for other users, so be sure to add a note explaining what the comment is for.
