UpWork calls are not free. In order to use the UpWork calling feature, you must have an UpWork account and be logged in.
PRO TIP: While Upwork calls are free for the person initiating the call, the person receiving the call may be charged depending on their phone plan. Be sure to check with your phone carrier before making or receiving calls on Upwork.
You also must have a valid payment method on file. UpWork uses a third-party service for calling, so your call charges will appear on your phone bill as a separate line item.
If you’re not interested in using the UpWork calling feature, you can still use the UpWork platform to find and hire freelancers. UpWork offers a variety of tools to help you find the right freelancer for your project, including a searchable database of freelancers, skills tests, and proposals.
