Can I Cancel a Contract in UpWork?

As a freelancer, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to cancel a contract with a client. Perhaps the project has become too challenging, or the client is proving to be difficult to work with. Whatever the reason, if you need to cancel a contract, you can do so in UpWork.

To cancel a contract in UpWork, go to the My Jobs tab and click on the contract that you want to cancel. On the right-hand side of the screen, there will be a button that says Cancel Contract. Click on this button and confirm that you want to cancel the contract.

Once you have cancelled the contract, neither you nor the client will be able to work on any unfinished projects. You will also not be able to leave feedback for each other. If you have already completed some work on the project, make sure to download or save it before cancelling the contract.
