How Do You Link Prototype in Figma?

Last updated on November 29, 2022 @ 6:35 am

Prototype is an essential part of Figma. It allows you to link your design together to create an interactive experience for your users. You can link your screens together to create a flow, or you can link individual elements to create hotspots.

There are two ways to link prototype in Figma:

1. In the Prototype tab, select the element you want to link, then click the Link button.

2. In the Layers panel, select the element you want to link, then click the Link icon in the toolbar.

Once you have linked your prototype, you can add interactions by clicking the Plus icon. There are four types of interactions:

– Navigate: Go to another screen
– Animate: Change the appearance of an element
– Gesture: Respond to a user’s gesture (tap, double-tap, swipe)
– Wait: Pause before doing something else

You can also style your text in HTML using < p >,< b > and < u > tags where applicable.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Figma does not currently support linking prototypes. Any links created in Figma will not be clickable when viewed in the prototype mode. We recommend using another program to create prototypes with links, or using the built-in link tool in Figma to create static links between frames.
