How Does Column Lock Work in Weebly?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 5:46 pm

Column lock is a Weebly feature that allows you to lock certain columns in place as you scroll down a long page. This can be useful for keeping important information visible, or for creating a sidebar that follows you as you scroll.

To use column lock, simply click on the element you want to lock in place, then click the “lock” icon in the editor toolbar. This will cause the element to stay in place even as you scroll down the page.

PRO TIP: Weebly’s column lock feature is a great way to keep your content organized on your site, but it’s important to understand how it works before using it. Column lock essentially locks a column of content in place, so that you can’t move it around or edit it without first unlocking the column. This can be useful if you want to make sure a certain section of your site stays in one place, but it can also be frustrating if you accidentally lock a column and then can’t edit the content. If you’re not careful, column lock can make it difficult to change the layout of your site, so use it with caution.

You can also use column lock to create a sidebar. To do this, add a second column to your page (using the “add column” button in the editor toolbar), then lock one of the columns in place. This will cause the second column to scroll with you as you move down the page, giving you a sidebar that follows you as you read.
