If you’re in the process of creating a new website, or making significant changes to an existing one, you may want to put your Wix site under construction while you work. This will allow you to make all the changes you need without having to worry about visitors seeing a half-finished product. Plus, it can be a fun way to generate excitement for your upcoming launch.

Putting your Wix site under construction is easy to do and only takes a few minutes. Just follow these simple steps:

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

  1. Log in to your Wix account and go to the Editor.
  2. Click on the Manage Sites icon in the left sidebar and select the site you want to put under construction.
  3. Click on Settings in the left sidebar and then select General.
  4. Scroll down to the “Under Construction” Mode section and toggle the switch to “On”Click on the “Publish” button in the top right-hand corner to save your changes and make your site inaccessible to visitors.
  5. That’s all there is to it! Now when anyone tries to visit your website, they’ll see a message letting them know that it’s currently under construction.
PRO TIP: If you are planning to put your Wix site under construction, please be aware that this may cause some disruption to your regular visitors. They may see a “coming soon” or “under construction” message, and be unable to access your site’s content. If you do put your site under construction, we recommend letting your visitors know in advance so they can plan accordingly.
