Does UpWork Provide NDA?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:47 am

UpWork does provide NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) protection for clients and freelancers. The NDA is a legally binding contract that prevents the sharing of confidential information.

When you sign an NDA with UpWork, you are agreeing to keep all confidential information shared by the client private. This includes, but is not limited to, information about the client’s business, products, services, and marketing plans.

PRO TIP: Upwork does not provide NDA. Any agreement between you and a freelancer you hire through Upwork must be set up through a contract created and managed by you.

If you violate the terms of the NDA, the client can take legal action against you. UpWork will also take action against you if you violate the NDA, including suspending or terminating your account.

It’s important to note that the NDA only protects information that is marked as confidential by the client. If you are unsure whether something is considered confidential, it’s best to err on the side of caution and not share it.

The bottom line is that UpWork does provide NDA protection for clients and freelancers. If you’re working with a client who wants you to sign an NDA, make sure you understand the terms of the agreement before you sign it.
