How Do You Turn on Guides in Figma?

Last updated on November 30, 2022 @ 12:54 am

There are two ways to turn on Guides in Figma. The first way is to go to the View menu and select “Show Guides”. The second way is to use the keyboard shortcut Shift+Command+; (semicolon).

Once you have turned on Guides, you can start placing objects on the canvas. To do this, simply click and drag an object from the Layers panel onto the canvas. When you release the mouse button, the object will snap to the nearest guide.

PRO TIP: Guides are a great way to line up your designs in Figma, but they can also be a little tricky to turn on at first. Here’s a quick guide on how to turn on guides in Figma:

1. Click the View tab at the top of the screen.

2. Click the checkbox next to Guides in the left sidebar.

3. Your guides will now be visible!

If you want to move an object that is already on the canvas, simply click and drag it with your mouse. Again, the object will snap to the nearest guide when you release the mouse button.

To remove an object from the canvas, simply click and drag it back to the Layers panel. Alternatively, you can select the object and press the Delete key on your keyboard.

Guides are a great way to align objects on your canvas. They can also help you create consistent spacing between objects.
