How Can I Upload My Government ID in UpWork?

Most people who want to work on UpWork need to verify their identity by uploading a government-issued ID. The process is simple:

1. Go to your Settings. 2. Select Get Verified under the Profile tab on the left-hand side. 3. Click the blue Verify button next to the type of ID you’d like to upload.

4. Follow the prompts to take or upload a photo of your ID and confirm your name and date of birth. 5. Click Submit for Review. 6. Once your ID is reviewed and approved, you’ll be able to start bidding on projects!

If you’re having trouble uploading your ID, please contact UpWork customer support.

PRO TIP: If you are asked to upload your government ID in Upwork, be aware that this is a scam. Upwork will never ask for your government ID. If you are asked to do this, please report it to Upwork immediately.
