Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, developed by American software company Figma, Inc. It is available in a web browser, and as a desktop and mobile app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The Figma user interface (UI) is based on the principles of vector graphics editors such as Adobe Illustrator and Sketch.
Figma has been described as “the Google Docs of design tools” because it enables real-time collaboration between designers in the same file. Figma files can be embedded on web pages and shared with anyone, regardless of whether they have a Figma account.
Figma is free to use for individuals and teams of up to 3 people. For larger teams, Figma offers paid plans that start at $12 per month per person.
Is Figma Private?
Figma is a private company funded by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Index Ventures, and GV (formerly Google Ventures). Figma is not required to disclose its financials publicly, so we do not know how much money it has raised or what its valuation is. However, we do know that Figma was last valued at $2 billion in 2019 after raising $40 million in a Series C funding round led by Kleiner Perkins.
