At Figma, we’re constantly asked how people can better collaborate on design projects. One of the most popular questions we hear is, “Is there a way to export Figma comments?”
The answer is yes! With Figma’s Comment Export feature, you can easily export all of the comments from a file as a JSON file. This file can then be imported into another file, or shared with someone else.
To export comments from a Figma file, simply go to the File > Export > Comments menu item. This will open up a dialog box where you can choose to export all comments or just the resolved ones. Once you’ve made your selection, click the Export button and choose where to save your JSON file.
Comment Export is a great way to share feedback with others, or to keep a record of what was discussed in a design session.
PRO TIP: If you are planning to export Figma comments, be aware that there is currently no way to do this. While Figma does allow you to export comments as a PDF, this only includes the comments themselves and not any of the associated design files. This means that if you want to export your Figma comments, you will need to do so manually.
To import comments into another Figma file, go to the File > Import > Comments menu item. This will open up a dialog box where you can select the JSON file that you exported earlier. Once you’ve selected the file, click the Import button and all of the comments from that file will be imported into the current file.
