Can Figma Work in CMYK?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 1:40 am

As more designers increasingly work with both digital and print media, the question of whether Figma can work in CMYK has come up more frequently. While Figma is primarily a vector drawing tool and doesn’t support CMYK color profiles, there are some ways to work around this.

By using the “Export as PDF” function and converting the PDF to CMYK in another program, it is possible to get close to the colors you would see in print. Additionally, there are some Figma plugins that allow you to export your design as an image in CMYK.

PRO TIP: Figma does not support CMYK color profiles, so any colors you create in Figma will be converted to RGB when you export them. This may cause unexpected color changes, so be sure to check your colors before exporting your design.

While Figma may not be the best tool for working with CMYK colors, it is still possible to get decent results by using the “Export as PDF” function and converting the PDF to CMYK in another program. With a little bit of effort, you can get your Figma designs to look great in both digital and print media.
