As a widely used design software, Photoshop is often the first program that comes to mind when we think about creating or manipulating images. However, Figma is quickly becoming a popular alternative for many designers, due in part to its web-based platform and ease of use. So, what happens when you need to open a Figma file in Photoshop?

Fortunately, it is possible to open Figma files in Photoshop with just a few clicks. First, open Photoshop and select File > Open.

Next, locate the Figma file you wish to open. If the file is in .fig format, select it and click Open.json format, select All Files from the drop-down menu next to the File Name field, then select the JSON file and click Open.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Photoshop cannot open Figma files. If you try to open a Figma file in Photoshop, you will receive an error message.

Note that you may need to have the latest version of Photoshop installed in order to open newer Figma files.
